Civil Court Case Number are the two letter jurisdiction code followed by the numerical digits.
The case jurisdiction codes are as follows:
SS = San Bernardino
DS = San Bernardino Civil
RS = Rancho Cucamonga
VS = Victorville
BS = Barstow
MS = Joshua Tree
NS = Needles
CS = Chino
FS = Fontana
ES = Redlands
PS = Probate
HS = Big Bear
These two letters are not always printed on Court documents.
The case type is the prefix (i.e., FSB, RFL, SMC, etc).
Example – if a printed document showed a case number as RFL012345, the case type would be RFL and the actual case number would be RS012345 (RS being the jurisdiction code and 012345 being the number).
