Weatherization Training Center

WX Training Class In 1982, the Southern California Gas Company established a Training Center to teach workers weatherization techniques. However, for business reasons, The Gas Company decided to close its training center, leaving no Weatherization Training Center in Southern California. The Pacific Gas and Electric training center in Stockton, CA is currently the only such facility in the state. This has a tremendous impact on travel and production downtime for many agencies located in Southern California that are doing Weatherization work.
CAPSBC's facility in San Bernardino accommodates Southern California users who can travel by auto and return home without requiring an overnight stay. There are several contractors and subcontractors, along with as the general public, who can benefit from this training as well. This represents an earned income opportunity for CAPSBC.
The State of California Department of Community Services and Development assisted CAPSBC with the awarding of a discretionary grant for the construction of the training center and the development of the curriculum.
