Chino Hills Branch Celebrates First Birthday!

The James S. Thalman Chino Hills Branch Library will celebrate its first birthday with a fun-filled afternoon of programs and activities on Saturday, February 27, 2010, from 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon. Cookies and lemonade will be served. The first 250 children will receive a special birthday book. There will be special crafts, activities, entertainment and a treasure hunt! The library is located at 14020 City Center Drive in the city center complex off Route 71 at the Grand Ave. exit.

County Opens Library Number 31!

Join the celebration as the San Bernardino County Library system opens its 31st branch, a joint-use library at the new Cal Aero Preserve Academy in Chino. The K-8 public school’s library serves students during school hours, then opens to the public from 3:00 in the afternoon to 8:00 at night, Monday through Thursday, and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Grand Opening will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2010 beginning at 9:30 am. There will be light refreshments and special activities, as well as an aviation poster giveaway. The new library is located at 15850 Main Street, just off Kimball Avenue, south of the Chino Airport.

Amazon.com Wish List

Waiting lists to check out popular books and bestsellers are long and the Library can’t always buy enough copies.  Now you can help shorten the waiting lists through the Me First book donation program. The library has created a list of high-demand books that you can purchase through a special Amazon.comWish List. Your purchase of a Wish List title meets an immediate and specific need, and you will be the first person to read that copy. Visit the Me First page for more information.

Email Notification Reminders

Summer Reading ProgramSign up for email reminders when your books are due! Avoid overdue charges, our email reminder service lets you know that your books or other materials are due before the deadline. Overdue notices and phone calls only happen after you already missed the due date and have incurred a fine. Sign up online or ask at the cards and accounts desk at your local branch library.

You can now use our PayPal link to pay library fines and fees.

After logging into your account, use our PayPal link to pay by credit card, or by an electronic debit from your checking account. You do not need a PayPal account to use this service. However, only registered San Bernardino County Library borrowers have access to it.
