January 1 Museum closed on New Year’s Day.
January 3 Free museum admission sponsored by Target, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
January 9 Family Fun Days, Needlepoint! Step back in time to a slower era, as you learn how to stitch a small ornament or bookmark. Needlepoint activities are free with paid Museum admission and will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
January 10 Lecture, Assembling the Explodasaurus, with Curator of Geology J. Chris Sagebiel, 2 p.m.
January 11 Workshop, Archival Outreach, with Curator of History Michele Nielsen, 9 a.m. to noon. By reservation.
January 13 Reading Discoveries book discussion, Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond, 7:30 p.m. Free.
January 16 Workshop, Gulls, Terns, and Shorebirds with Museum Director Robert McKernan, 10 a.m. to noon. By reservation.
January 16 and 17 Family Fun Days, All Aboard for Train Days! All things related to trains and railroads will be at the Museum from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days! Model railroads, games, and activities for all ages are free with paid Museum admission.
January 18 Museum open on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
January 22 History walk, Life on the Rancho with Curator of History Michele Nielsen, in John Rains House, 1 p.m. Free. Located at 8810 Hemlock, Rancho Cucamonga.
January 23 Art Workshop - Introducing Clay (ages 8 and above)
January 27 Guest lecture, Triceratops with Andrew Farke, 7:30 p.m. Free.
January 30 Travel, Birds of the Salton Sea, with Museum Director Robert McKernan. By reservation.
February 6 Family Fun Days, Shoot for the Stars! If you’d like to learn more about stars and constellations, come to StarLab, our inflatable planetarium. Listen to stories about the stars during this program, which is free with paid Museum admission. Shows are at 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 1:45, 2:30, and 3:15. This show is most suitable for children over the age of age 4.
February 7 Lecture, Darwin and Design, with Curator of Paleontology Eric Scott, 2 p.m.
February 7 Museum Offers half-off admission on First Sunday in February, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
February 10 Reading Discoveries book discussion, La Nueva California: Latinos in the Golden State by David E. Hayes-Bautista, 7:30 p.m. Free. 
February 13 and 15 Reflections in Space, family activities, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
February 15 Museum open on President’s Day holiday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
February 20 Lecture, The Cajon Pass: Southern California’s Geological Treasure Trove, with Senior Curator Kathleen Springer, 2 p.m. 
February 20 Family Fun Days, Weaving! Have fun as you learn how to weave! It takes time to weave cloth, so plan to relax as you watch your weaving grow! Weaving activities are free with paid Museum admission and will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
February 20 Art Workshop - Drawing with Pen and Ink (ages 8 and above)
February 24 Guest lecture, Rock Art with George Kline, 7:30 p.m. Free.
February 26 Curator’s walk, House of Mud and Straw, with Curator of History Michele Nielsen at Yucaipa Adobe, 1 p.m. Free.
February 27 Travel, Exploring the Cajon Pass, with Senior Curator Kathleen Springer, Curator of Paleontology Eric Scott, and Curator of Geology Chris Sagebiel. By reservation. 
February 27 Family Fun Days, History Day at the Rains House, Step back in time when people had to work with their hands! Come and wash clothes, beat a rug, dip a candle, and much more! The John Rains House, located north of Foothill Blvd, at 8810 Hemlock in Rancho Cucamonga. History Day will run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
March 5 Gallery walk, In-hand: 3-dimensional Artifacts and their Stories, with Curator of History Michele Nielsen, 2 p.m.
March 6 Workshop, Birds 102 (4 sessions) with Museum Director Robert McKernan, 10 a.m. to noon. By reservation.
March 7 Demonstrations and activities with the Embroiderers Guild, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
March 10 Reading Discoveries book discussion, Songbird Journeys by Miyoko Chu, 7:30 p.m. Free.
March 13 Family Fun Days, Embroidery! Learn how to make a flower or tree using thread! Join us for embroidery and fun from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. today! Embroidery activities are free with paid Museum admission.
March 14 Lecture, Big Game Hunting in the Ice Ages, with Curator of Paleontology Eric Scott, 2 p.m.
March 20 Workshop, Birds 102 (4 sessions) with Museum Director Robert McKernan, 10 a.m. to noon. By reservation.
March 20 Field trip, March Manix Madness with Curator of Paleontology Eric Scott, Curator of Geology J. Chris Sagebiel, and Senior Curator Kathleen Springer. By reservation.
March 24 Guest lecture, History of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, with Michael Contreras Jr., 7:30 p.m. Free.
