In November 2004 the Cedar Glen Disaster Recovery Redevelopment Project Area was approved to assist with the rebuilding of an area destroyed by the 2003 Old Fire. The major goal of the project is to construct improvements within the Project Area that will promote the reconstruction of homes destroyed in the fire, and to provide infrastructure improvements to assist in preventing future disasters from causing this degree of devastation in the community. The total Project Area is approximately 837 acres.
