Volunteers are needed to serve as Poll Workers on Election Day. This is a great way to serve your community and get involved with the democratic process while earning extra money. We recruit Clerks and Inspectors to staff elections held throughout the year.
Requirements:

Be at least 18 years of age and a registered voter in the State of California, or
-
Be a high school student at least 16 years of age and in good academic standing
-
Read and write English
-
Work on Election Day from 6:00 a.m. until all closing duties are completed (approximately 9:30 p.m.)

Attend a mandatory 2 hour training session

Have transportation to the Polling Place
Duties:
-
Prepare, open and close the polling place location
-
Find voters name on roster of voters
-
Issue and receive official ballots for voters

Assist voters in every aspect of the voting process
Inspector, in addition must:
-
Attend extended training session
-
Receive and check election supplies prior to Election Day
-
Call his/her clerks and confirm they will work Election Day
-
Call his/her Polling Place prior to Election Day to confirm availability and access
-
Be in charge of Polling Place and Precinct Board on Election Day

Return ballots and supplies on Election Night
Pay:
-
Inspector: $135 plus mileage plus $30.00 class pay
-
Clerks: $100 plus $15.00 class pay
-
Bilingual poll workers receive an additional $10.00
Election Day Hours are 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The polls are set-up between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. and are
open at 7:00 a.m. The polls are closed at 8:00 p.m. and closing
procedures may take an additional hour to complete.
