City of Chino Hills

The law enforcement contract with the city of Chino Hills celebrates its 15th -year anniversary in 2006. The city of Chino Hills continues to grow and is emerging as one of the fastest growing urban communities in the West Valley. New commercial development continues to come in the form of retail stores along the 71-freeway corridor, which creates new challenges because of traffic and population increases. Residential development maintained a continual growth and the result has been an increase in the population to over 78,000.

The City of Chino Hills, known for its well-groomed streets, landscaping and over thirty city-maintained parks, remains a family-oriented community. The city the Big League Dreams sports park that provides additional baseball fields, picnic areas, recreational meeting rooms, a skateboard park and sit-down restaurants.

The City of Chino Hills has long been established as an equestrian community that includes the McCoy Equestrian Ranch, which was constructed as a state-of-the art equestrian center. This facility is the centerpiece of the community, providing equestrian training and pleasure riding as well as functioning as a center for weddings and receptions.

The city developed a community center in the Carbon Canyon area commonly known as "Sleepy Hollow" that provides the residents of the area with a meeting place for community events. The center also includes an office area for the Chino Hills Police that is available to the area patrol officer to meet with local citizens, complete follow-up reports and become more readily available for calls in the area.

With the population and commercial development increase, it was recognized that traffic concerns and calls for service would continue to increase. To better serve the community, the Chino Hills Police/Sheriff's Department established a toll-free phone number and an e-mail address with which to report driving concerns to the city. In addition, the city has developed and put into action a 3-5 year plan to increase the staffing levels at the police department.

The Chino Hills Police/Sheriff's Department has developed a strong working partnership with the city and its citizens by establishing a total team response that meets the needs of the community resulting in a low crime rate that is helping to establish Chino Hills as one of California 's premier communities.
