City of Victorville

The Victorville Station has the distinction of being the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's oldest contract city operation, serving as the Victorville Police Department since 1962. The Police Department moved into a new facility at 14200 Amargosa Road in 2001. This building is over three times larger than the previous station and was designed as a law enforcement facility for a more efficient operation. The Victorville Police Department also has three satellite stations; Wimbleton Center on Hesperia Road, Victorville Transportation Center on "D" Street, and an office in the Mall of Victor Valley.

There are a total of 102 employees, of which 80 are sworn deputies and 22 are general employee support personnel. We also have six Reserve Deputy Sheriffs, 46 Citizens on Patrol / Citizen Volunteer members and 32 Explorer Scouts. These volunteers donate thousands of hours to their community every year.

The city covers 99 square miles with a population of approximately 95,000 residents. Because the City of Victorville is the retail center of the Victor Valley, the population increases to over 130,000 people working and shopping within the city. Most of the major retailers in the Victor Valley are located in the city such as; The Mall of Victor Valley, Costco, auto dealers and other large retailers in the area.

Victorville Station serves as the Police Department and works closely with the others departments in the City of Victorville. Our relationships with Public Works, Code Enforcement, Building and the other departments in the city allow us to target criminal activity affecting the quality of life of the citizens we serve. The City of Victorville has grown dramatically in the past five years and we have seen the population jump from 65,000 to nearly 100,000 since 2001. The Victorville Police Department is committed to being very proactive in seeking out criminals and arresting them to make Victorville the "Key City of the High Desert."
